Police Rescue Ex-Power Minister Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons; Two Suspected Kidnappers Killed
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following their abduction in Oyo State.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while Mrs. John-Paul was on her way to drop the children off at school.
Sources within the police disclosed that the rescue operation was carried out after sustained intelligence gathering and tactical pressure mounted on the abductors by security operatives.
During the operation, two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun battle with police personnel. Authorities also recovered two firearms believed to have been used by the criminal gang.
The victims were rescued unharmed and reunited with their family, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who may have escaped during the operation.
Police authorities are yet to issue a detailed official statement on the rescue.
