Hamzat Rallies Lagos APC Leaders, Women, Youth Ahead of Governorship Primaries
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on Wednesday met with Local Government and LCDA chairmen, alongside leaders of the All Progressives Congress, at his campaign office in GRA, Ikeja, ahead of the party’s governorship primaries.
Hamzat also held separate engagements with APC women leaders and youth leaders across the state as part of efforts to strengthen party unity, mobilize grassroots support, and strategize ahead of the primaries.
Speaking during the gathering, the deputy governor stressed the importance of unity, continuity, and progressive leadership, noting that governance should be driven by service, discipline, and commitment to development.
Hamzat reflected on the sacrifices that shaped the progressive movement in Lagos and Nigeria, urging party loyalists to remain focused on sustaining the vision that has brought growth and stability to the state.
According to him, governance goes beyond occupying positions of authority and must be centered on building systems that improve the lives of citizens through consistency and people-oriented policies.
The deputy governor also highlighted the importance of technology, education, and economic reforms in driving national development, citing countries such as Japan and the United States as examples of nations that have achieved growth through innovation and productivity.
He further warned against internal division within the ruling party, emphasizing the need for members to remain united ahead of future elections.
“We are one family and one progressive movement. It is important that we continue to support one another and protect the vision that has brought development to our people,” Hamzat said.
He also urged party members to engage more with residents at the grassroots level by explaining government policies and encouraging wider participation in the democratic process.
Also speaking at the event, former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, called for massive support and participation ahead of the APC primaries.
“We want to have an election that has never happened before. This is only possible with your support,” Obanikoro stated.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the immediate past Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Ajala, who appreciated party leaders and supporters for their continued commitment to the progressive movement in the state.
At the event were Alhaji Mutiu Are; Distinguished Senators Musiliu Obanikoro and Ganiyu Solomon; husband of the Ogun State Deputy Governor and party chieftain at Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Alh Bode Oyedele, immediate past Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala among others.
