Grand Chief Imam of Oyo Land Visits DSS Director, Seeks Stronger Security Collaboration
The Grand Chief Imam of Oyo Land, Bilal Husayn Akinola Akeugberu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Oyo State, Usman Biu, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between religious leaders and security agencies.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, was aimed at reinforcing existing ties between the Muslim community and security authorities while promoting peace, unity, and stability across the state.

Accompanying the Grand Chief Imam was Mallam Ibrahim Agunbiade, a respected member of the Oyo State Muslim community.
Speaking during the meeting, Akeugberu stressed the critical role of collaboration between religious institutions and security agencies in addressing emerging threats and maintaining social order. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Muslim community in Oyo Land to support lawful authorities in sustaining peace and harmony.
In his response, Biu expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of responsible leadership and commitment to peaceful coexistence. He assured the delegation of the DSS’s continued resolve to protect lives and property, while also encouraging sustained engagement with community stakeholders.
