Nnamdi Kanu Dismisses Legal Team, Opts to Defend Himself in Court
The detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has dismissed his entire legal team in a dramatic twist during Thursday’s court proceedings.
Kanu informed the court that he no longer required the services of his lawyers, stating his intention to personally handle his defence. Following his declaration, all members of the defence team — including the Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) led by Kanu Agabi (SAN) — formally withdrew from the case.
From the dock, Kanu challenged the court’s jurisdiction to continue his trial, insisting that the charges against him lacked legal merit.
