COMEG accredits 5 academic programmes at FUTA

The Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) has granted full accreditation, until December 2025, to all academic programmes run in five departments of the Federal University of Technology Akure.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

According to the statement, all the accredited departments are under the School of Earth and Mineral Sciences.

Having met all the certification requirements, COMEG, as a regulatory body for all professionals and industries in the Geosciences, Mining Engineering and Metallurgy sectors, deemed it fit to approve all programmes in the aforementioned departments of the university.

The body, therefore, delivered its approval letters (duly signed) in person to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Adenike Oladiji.

“B. Tech. Applied Geology, B. Tech. Applied Geophysics, B. Tech. Marine Science and Technology, B. Tech. Remote Sensing and Geoscience and B. Tech. Mining Engineering got the all clear signal from COMEG,” the statement added.
