Trump begins second term as 47th U.S. President, declares “Golden Age of America”
Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, marking the start of his second term with a bold promise of national revival.
“The golden age of America begins right now,” Trump declared in his 30-minute inaugural address delivered in the Capitol Rotunda. He pledged, “From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world.”
Trump wasted no time asserting control, rapidly appointing officials across federal agencies. Later in the day, he participated in a celebratory indoor version of the traditional presidential parade held in a Washington arena. During the event, he signed an initial wave of executive orders aimed at dismantling key Democratic policies on immigration, energy, trade, and diversity initiatives.
Returning to the White House, Trump continued to issue additional executive actions before attending several inaugural balls that stretched into the evening. Among the more contentious orders was a directive to cease federal recognition of automatic birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.
The longstanding interpretation of the 14th Amendment has granted citizenship to individuals born on U.S. soil, regardless of their parents’ immigration status. Trump’s move to challenge this principle is expected to ignite intense legal debates and partisan conflict.
Trump’s second inauguration signals a determined shift in governance, setting the tone for an administration poised to reshape America’s policies both domestically and internationally.
