FCT Police launch probe to unravel cause of death of popular cross dresser ‘Abuja Area Mama’
The FCT Commissioner of Police has directed an immediate probe into the killing of a well-known crossdresser, nicknamed ‘Abuja Area Mama’.
This was announced in a statement by Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, on Thursday.
The crossdresser was reportedly found dead in the Mabushi area of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday.
According to the statement, the police were investigating the incident.
It stated, “In response to a distress call received by the Command Control Room that an unidentified lady was seen lying motionless along Katampe – Mabushi express way, a team of detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene.
She said, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual was a man fully dressed in female clothing with no means of identification on him. He was immediately taken to Maitama District Hospital where doctors on duty confirmed him dead. The Commissioner of Police, FCT, has promptly ordered a thorough and discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding his death. Updates on this matter will be communicated in due course.’’
The news of ‘Abuja Area Mama’ death is coming barely three days after Lagos-based popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky, regained his freedom after serving jail term for mutilating the naira.
