Food inflation: Bauchi government introduces uniform measure to protect consumers
The Bauchi State Government has announced plans to introduce a uniform measure for selling food items across the state, aimed at protecting consumers and sanitizing the grains business.
This move is in response to the sharp practices in the food industry, which have caused hardship among citizens. It is also seen as a significant step towards protecting consumers and promoting a fair market in the state.
Governor Bala Muhammad is concerned about the use of different measures in food sales, resulting in citizens not getting value for their money.
According to Permanent Secretary of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Saratu Musa Jibrin, the uniform measure will eliminate fraudulent practices, ensure fairness and transparency in sales, and promote a fair market in the state.
The government, the official stressed, is determined to address the situation and put an end to illegal businesses in the state.
In addition to this initiative, the Ministry also assists eligible civil servants and renovation of mosques and churches as part of its humanitarian services
