Video: Dramatic rescue in Abuja building collapse capured on camera
In a heart-stopping moment, emergency responders rescued the last victim trapped in the rubble of a collapsed two-story building in Kubwa, Abuja. The daring rescue effort was captured on camera, showing the team carefully extracting the survivor from the wreckage.
Earlier, the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD) confirmed that four people had been pulled alive from the debris on Saturday.
According to FEMD’s acting director-general, Florence Wenegieme, the building, which previously served as a hotel with 45 rooms, collapsed beside Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Road.
The rescue operation, which involved multiple agencies, was launched promptly after the collapse. Wenegieme commended the emergency team’s swift response and urged developers to prioritize building safety and adhere to regulations to prevent such incidents.
The rescued victims are receiving medical attention, and the investigation into the cause of the collapse is ongoing.
