It was a moment of sadness for a young Nigerian lady as her dreams were shattered when her carefully saved cash, stored in a piggy bank over more than 350 days, was discovered to have gone bad.

The heartbreaking incident was captured on video, showing the cash owner in distress, as she realised the fruits of her diligent savings had been ruined.

The large part of the money, which she had saved for future beneficial purposes in the Nigerian currency, was found in a deteriorated state, rendering some of it almost useless for financial dealings.

The video, which has since gone viral, depicts the emotional moment when the woman opens her piggy bank, only to be met with the devastating sight of her hard-earned Naira notes in a damaged condition.

Commenting on the video, some netizens highlighted the risks associated with storing cash in non-secure environments, where factors such as moisture, pests, or other deteriorative conditions can render money unusable.

Other viewers expressed their sympathy and heartbreak for the owner of the cash, while stressing the immense disappointment and financial setback she has experienced.

Chukwudi Thechucks said, “I feel your pain but next time don’t use metal box as your saving box rather use the wooden box may miracles that will bring more than your savings be your portion amen.”

“Na who get money dey save. Sorry dear. If na me i fit faint, by now i for dey hospital. Aaaah, my spinal chest . Feeling your pains from here 😔.” Jennifer Collins said.

In a rare show of kind gesture, a user, Ekwudu  Uzodinma Alexander offered to give a helping hand to the cash owner to console her losses.

He commented, “The kolo was not kept in a dry place, either water got into the Kolo or the area it was stored in was very damp and humid. Sorry for your loss. You can send me your account details.”
