Tinubu orders immediate rescue of remaining abducted female students at FUGUS
President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to immediately rescue the remaining abducted female students of Federal University, Gusau (FUGUS) by terrorists in Zamfara State.
Ajuri Ngelale, the special adviser to the president on media & publicity disclosed this in the late hours of Sunday.
According to a report, about 25 female students were abducted by terrorists at a village directly opposite the university gate on Friday, 22 September 2023. It added that troops of the NA had rescued some of them.
Condemning the culpable act of abduction, Tinubu asserted that there is no moral justification for such a heinous act against innocent victims whose only “offence” was their pursuit of quality education.
He therefore reiterated his commitment to guaranteeing the safety of lives and properties for every Nigerian and assured the families of the abducted students that no effort would be spared in ensuring their safe return.
In addition, the President also emphasised the determination of the central government to ensure that educational institutions remain sanctuaries of knowledge, growth, and opportunity and totally free from the menacing acts of terrorists.
