Ministry of Aviation charges staff with quality service delivery
The Federal Ministry of Aviation has charged its staff with diligence and discipline in the course of their service delivery.
The Director of Reform Coordination and Servicom Innovation (RC&SI), Mr Adetunji Oladipupo Karim, stated this at the Ministerial Servicom second-quarter committee meeting held in Abuja today.
Mr Karim enjoined the staff to monitor their performances and take hold of Performance Management System (PMS), as it has come to stay. He pledged the supply of the latest technological working tools, saying ‘the use of files and papers will soon fade out.”
Mr Karim added, “The ongoing reform of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP), which includes capacity building, Performance Management, IPPIS Human Resources, Innovation, Digitalization content service, and staff welfare are what will enhance productivity in the aviation sector.
Furthermore, he directed all staff to always put on their identification tags (I.D. Cards) at their respective offices and to channel any grievances or complaints to the Ministry using the available suggestion boxes.
“There will be a need to sensitize staff through jingles on the use of suggestion boxes as many staff are not aware of it exists” the director lamented.
Deputy Director, Reform Coordination and Servicom Innovation (RC&SI), Bilikisu Dada described the new director as a seasoned public administrator with a wealth of experience.
Speaking on the professionalism and humanitarian management capacity of Adetunji Oladipupo Karim, Mrs Dada maintained that his leadership style within the little period he has spent in the Ministry has brought about innovative ideas and fresh perspectives on how to move the Department forward and also to bring the best out of the Ministry’s workforce in the interest of the service.
In the same vein, Mary Ugbah gave an update on the review of the Ministry’s Service Charter.
She said, “The first review was sent to the Servicom Presidency for assessment and approval, the SERVICOM returned the document for some corrections to be affected before final approval.”
