President Bola Tinubu doffs Borno governor at 54, tags him as ‘administrative icon’
On the auspicious occasion of his 54th birthday anniversary, Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, hailed the incumbent governor of Borno state, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for his outstanding leadership capacity.
He noted that Zulum’s activism was not just started on the governorship seat but something he (Zulum) has demonstrated throughout his career as an educationist and administrator.
President Tinubu, while highlighting the courageous zeal of the young activist, described him as an “Administrative Icon,” recalling his days as educationist/administrator, who has held several positions such as Deputy Dean and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in the University of Maiduguri; Rector of Ramat Polytechnic.
Zulum also served as Commissioner of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement under former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, who is now the nation’s Vice President.
Mr. President added that Governor Zulum has redefined leadership in Nigeria through his demonstration of vision, selfless diligence and commitment to the welfare and security of his people.
“Prof. Zulum is driving a message of renewed hope in both the young and the old, even as he rebuilds institutions and infrastructure that were torn apart by many years of insurgency,” President Bola Tinubu exclaimed.
He concluded by praying for more ‘strength, courage and wisdom’ for Governor Zulum.
