Breaking: FG approves N5 billion palliative for states, FCT
The federal government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved a sum of five billion naira (N5 billion) for each of the 36 states in the country and the FCT.
Borno state governor, Babagana Umara Zulum made the announcement in Abuja on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
He unveiled the president’s endorsement after the national executives meeting (NEC) held at the State House today, noting that the fund is to help cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal.
The meeting was chaired by the next in command of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria, VP Kashim Shettima.
Mr. President has also approved 5 trucks of rice for each state of the federation with FCT not an exemption.
