Operatives of EFCC convict 3 internet fraudsters in Kaduna

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Kaduna Zonal Command, have convicted three suspects of internet fraud on a one-count charge bordering on cybercrime.

Justice A.A. Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court secured the conviction of the suspects. The trio are Philemon Moses Cobons (aka Greg Young), Blessed Zugwai Adamu (aka James Smith) and Adajinewa Anaiah (aka Goddes Lex).

According to the Commission, the convicts were captured at their different dens following their accusations of cybercrimes. The operatives stated that the convicts are fond of luring unsuspecting victims into “phony social relationships” using false pretenses.

They all pleaded guilty before the prosecuting attorneys, E.K. Garba and M.U. Gadaka, who convicted them accordingly.

The statement reads, “Justice Isiaka convicted and sentenced Adamu and Anaiah to 2 years imprisonment, while Cobons was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. The defendants were offered the option of a fine of N150,000 each. In addition, they are to forfeit all proceeds of the crime to the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
