Gov. Sani meets judiciary, urges collaboration on security challenge

Kaduna state governor, Uba Sani, has had a meeting with the judiciary officials in the state and called for their support in combating the ongoing insecurity challenges.

Mr Governor revealed this in a statement on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

He mentioned that the essence of the gathering is to strengthen public trust and confidence in the justice system, improve citizens’ access to justice, and effectively tackle the challenges of insecurity in Kaduna State.

In the meeting led by Hon. Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu, the governor commended the meritorious service of the officials towards the state’s progression and urged them to join hands with the executive arm in combating the surfacing challenge of insecurity in rural areas of Kaduna State.

“For us to succeed in tackling criminality, the Judiciary must play a critical role. People must be made to account for their actions and inaction. The full weight of the law must be brought to bear on those who have been putting our communities under siege and destroying the economies of rural areas,” he said.

He added by reassuring the present administration’s commitment to implementing the autonomy of the judiciary to ensure a deepened democracy and quickened access to equity.

Gov. Sani also received a basket of administrative demands from the judiciary and promised to address them within the limitations of the available resources.
