Ramadan is a month resplendent with blessings of Almighty Allah. Words are inadequate to describe these divine blessings and favours. They come in multiple, especially in this holy month.

This is because, in this month, sinners who seek Allah’s forgiveness are forgiven and purified. Not only that, they are rewarded and compensated in multiple folds.About this,Allah says in the Qur’an, “We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night (i.e. night of Qadr in the month of Ramadan]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship.(Qur’an 44:verse2)

Equally, the prophet is reported to have said, “Whoever observes fast during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.”

However, there are Muslims who will either be partly or completely denied the blessings despite their active engagement and involvement in these spiritual exercises and activities that characterized the month of Ramadan.

What would be the fate of those who labour and end up losing the entire rewards of their spiritual efforts?

The prophet (S.A.W) was explicit while explaining to his companions the actions and words that can endanger one’s chances of regaining the rewards of fasting.

In one of his traditions, he is reported to have said, “If one does not abandon falsehood in words and deeds, Allah has no need for his abandoning of his food and drink.”

Drawing from the above Hadith, every devout Muslim is enjoined to refrain from nefarious activities: mendacity, foul words, and other immoral acts that can vitiate fast and jeopardize all efforts.

There is no gain in saying the fact that the reward for doing good in this month is multiplied, so the sins for doing bad.

This explains why it is germane to jettison sin and tie oneself to the apron of righteousness in this month.

In conclusion, we should all leverage this golden opportunity to get closer to Allah by engaging in rewardable acts and boycotting vices.

I supplicate to Allah to forgive our sins and rectify our affairs.
