independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) has rejected the judgement on the use of Temporary Voter Cards (TVC).

The electoral body frowned on the judgement allowing those with TVC to participate in the 18 March Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

According to a report on Saturday March 11, 2023, a Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that the electoral body should allow those with TCV to vote in a suit filed by Koforwola Olusegun and Wilson Allwell.

“The plantiffs requested for (sic) a ruling ordering INEC to allow them and others with TVCs vote on March 18,” the report says.

It added, “Justice Obiora Egwatu of the Federal High Court granted the request by the plantiffs to use their TVCs instead of their PVCs.”

Affirming the reception of the suit and showing their burning desire to appeal the judgement, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairmn, Rotimi Oyekanmi said, “The Independent National Electoral Commission has been served a copy of the judgement by the Federal High Court, Abuja Division which ordered it to allow two Plaintiffs to vote with their TVCs.”

“We will appeal it,” he added.
