Olowu family immortalizes father, donates properties to MSSN
The family of Olowo of Owu has built a mosque and an Islamic center to immortalise their late father.
The new properties were handed over to the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN).
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday January 16, 2023.
“On Sunday, 15th January, 2023, HM, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, Olowu of Owu and his siblings handed over to MSSN a new Masjid and Islamic Centre in the name of their late dad,” the statement reads.
According to the statement, the main property was originally built by their dad as a family residence.
“Olowu and his siblings were raised in the same building.”
The newly converted Islamic Centre alongside an adjoining residential building here in Lagos, were transferred to MSSN as custodians of the assets, the statement revealed.
