President Tinubu to Embark on Three-Nation Diplomatic Tour
Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2, for an official visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda as part of efforts to deepen international partnerships and economic cooperation.
According to official details, the President’s first stop will be in France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he will participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
The high-level gathering, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on key areas such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and the restructuring of the global financial system. Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to stronger ties with African nations and France.
Following the summit in Kenya, the President will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum slated for May 14 to May 15. The forum, held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will bring together over 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers.
With the theme “Scale or Fail,” the forum will explore strategies to accelerate economic transformation across Africa through regional integration, industrial growth, and cross-border investments. It is regarded as one of the continent’s largest private sector gatherings.
At both events, President Tinubu is expected to outline his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a top destination for investment and sustainable growth. He will also engage in high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by key ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
