Lere Paimo:ANTP Dismisses Viral Death Rumour, Says Actor Alive
The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has clarified that Chief Olalere OsunPaimo (MFR), the revered Yoruba theatre icon widely known as Baba Eda Onile Ola, is alive and in good health, contrary to false reports circulating on Facebook.
In a statement released by the National Public Relations Officer of the association, Prince Adejonwo Oluwafemi Femson, ANTP described the rumours of the veteran actor’s death as completely unfounded. He confirmed that the association had spoken directly with Chief OsunPaimo’s wife, who assured them that her husband is “alive, well, and in stable condition.”
Prince Adejonwo condemned the originators of the misleading reports, describing them as individuals deliberately spreading misinformation to cause panic. He urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and desist from sharing unverified claims.
“Chief Olalere OsunPaimo, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ANTP, remains very much with us,” the statement read. “We call on the public to always confirm information before posting or reposting on social media.”
The ANTP spokesman thanked fans and supporters for their concern and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to providing accurate updates on the wellbeing of its members and cultural icons.
