The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has issued a security advisory urging members of the Polytechnic community, particularly students, to remain indoors from 9:00 p.m. daily due to intelligence reports indicating possible security threats in the area.

In an internal memorandum signed by the Registrar, R. I. Adebayo, and dated October 7, 2025, the institution disclosed that the alert followed intelligence gathered about the possible presence of some suspected Fulani herdsmen in and around Iree, which could pose potential danger to residents and students.

“The entire Polytechnic Community, especially students, are hereby informed to stay indoors anytime from 9:00 p.m. in Iree and its environs. This alertness and security awareness arose based on intelligence gathering from the community on the possible presence of some Fulani herdsmen which may likely pose a security threat,” the memo stated.
