The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that intending pilgrims will pay ₦8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj exercise, in line with the rate approved by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji AbdulSalam Abdulkadir, made this known while addressing journalists in Ilorin, the state capital. He revealed that NAHCON has allocated a total of 3,762 slots to Kwara State for next year’s pilgrimage.

According to him, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved an initial deposit arrangement of ₦5 million to enable residents to secure their slots. Intending pilgrims are expected to balance up the remaining payment on or before October 8, 2025, which is the deadline set for full payment.

Alhaji Abdulkadir emphasized the need for all intending pilgrims to possess valid international passports and complete the required registration processes within the stipulated time frame.

He commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his continued support, noting that the governor’s intervention was aimed at ensuring that every participant enjoys a smooth and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience both in Kwara and during the holy rites in Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary further assured that the Board would work closely with NAHCON and other relevant stakeholders to provide adequate welfare and logistical arrangements for pilgrims.
