The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, and former National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, over alleged anti-party activities.

The suspension followed a communiqué issued at a PDP Ife Federal Constituency meeting held on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the residence of the Osun East Senatorial Leader.

According to the communiqué, the party expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of Hon. Bimbo Ajilesoro, a member of the House of Representatives, who recently defected from the PDP despite winning his mandate under the party’s platform.

Party leaders at the meeting strongly condemned the alleged role of Prof. Wale Oladipo and Deputy Governor Adewusi in supporting Ajilesoro after his defection. They also accused the Ife East PDP Chairman, Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde, popularly known as Benco, of bringing thugs to the meeting on the instruction of Oladipo.

The communiqué further alleged that loyal PDP members in Ife East Local Government who distanced themselves from Ajilesoro after his defection — including Lawrence Omotosho, Adeyinka Adeniji (aka Gbogbo Ebe), and Yakubu Olawusi — were being victimized by losing their positions in government and within the party. It also decried the suspension of party meetings in the area, which leaders claimed was weakening PDP’s grassroots activities.

As a result, the meeting resolved to pass a vote of no confidence on Prof. Oladipo, Deputy Governor Adewusi, and Hon. Makinde, accusing them of activities detrimental to the party’s success in Ifeland.

The communiqué was signed by stakeholders of the PDP in Ife Federal Constituency.
