Modi, Ishiba Deepen India-Japan Strategic Partnership

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart, Prime Minister Ishiba, on Thursday evening held the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit in Tokyo, reaffirming their commitment to deepening the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between both nations.

In a post shared on his official X handle, Modi disclosed that he and Ishiba reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and agreed on a comprehensive roadmap to guide cooperation in the coming years. Priority areas identified include investment, innovation, environment, technology, health, mobility, people-to-people exchanges, and enhanced collaboration between Indian states and Japanese prefectures.

The summit also featured extensive discussions on the Economic Security Cooperation Initiative, advancements in technology and digital partnership, artificial intelligence, as well as closer cooperation in security and space exploration. Both leaders underscored the importance of strengthening ties to address emerging global challenges while unlocking new opportunities for growth and development.
