The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from Olakunle Alex Folarin, a former staff member recently seen on a matchmaking programme hosted on Lege Miami’s social media platforms, stressing that he is no longer in the employment of the Commission.

According to a statement issued by the Commission, Folarin, who worked as a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed after being found guilty of certificate forgery. Despite his disengagement, he allegedly continued to parade himself in a manner that could mislead the public into associating him with the EFCC.

The EFCC revealed that its Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered Folarin’s arrest after it was discovered that he still held on to some official properties belonging to the agency, including an Identity Card that should have been surrendered upon his dismissal.

“The Commission strongly condemns his actions and urges the public not to associate his post-dismissal conduct with the EFCC,” the statement emphasized.

The anti-graft agency reiterated its commitment to integrity, accountability, and professionalism, warning that it would not tolerate attempts by any individual, former staff or otherwise, to misrepresent the Commission for personal purposes.
