EXCLUSIVE: PDP Chairman, INEC Officials Arrested in Iperu for Alleged Election Bribery
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Iperu Remo, Mr. Tella, alongside two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and others, has been arrested in the early hours of Saturday, August 16, 2025.
According to a source who spoke with Afri Reporters, the suspects were apprehended with large sums of cash suspected to be intended for vote-buying in the forthcoming House of Representatives by-elections.

The source disclosed that the arrested individuals have already provided useful information to the police, hinting at a grand plan to bribe voters and manipulate the outcome of the elections.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the arrests, but security operatives are said to be intensifying investigations to unravel the full extent of the alleged electoral malpractice.
