EFCC Nabs 33 Suspected Internet Fraudsters

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 33 suspected internet fraudsters in coordinated operations across Minna, Niger State, and Kaduna State.

According to the EFCC, operatives from the Kaduna Zonal Directorate carried out the arrests based on credible intelligence linking the suspects to various online fraudulent activities.

“Twenty-nine of the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Minna, Niger State, while the remaining four were arrested Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in Unguwan Mai Gero area of Kaduna State,” the commission disclosed.

During the operations, several electronic devices believed to be used in committing the alleged crimes were recovered.

These include 46 smartphones, 11 laptops, two iPads, and one PlayStation console.

The EFCC further stated that all suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded, reaffirming its commitment to tackling cybercrime across the country.
