Troops Smash Kidnap Syndicate in Kwara, Rescue Victims, Nab Eight in Bold Patigi Raid

The troops of the 22 Armoured Brigade, operating from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Patigi, Kwara State, have rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested eight suspected kidnappers in a well-coordinated operation in Latandaji Village, Patigi Local Government Area.
In a significant win against crime, the daring raid was carried out on Saturday, June 21, 2025, following credible intelligence and executed with strategic precision. According to a statement released by Lieutenant Stephen Nwankwo, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the troops faced mild resistance but swiftly overpowered the suspects using superior firepower.
Rescued from captivity were Mr. Amos Moses and Mr. Philip Michael, while one of the suspects, Mr. Mohammed Mohammed, sustained gunshot injuries during the confrontation and is currently receiving medical treatment at Bachita Teaching Hospital.
A thorough sweep of the area yielded the recovery of two motorcycles and two expended cartridges, suspected to have been used by the criminal gang. The eight arrested individuals remain in military custody and will be handed over to law enforcement for further investigation and prosecution.
