Tech Meets Talent as WICE Iwopin Celebrates Children’s Day

The Children’s Day celebration at Wisdom College of Excellence (WICE), Iwopin in Ogun Waterside LGA, Ogun State, was a remarkable display of talent, innovation, and community spirit. Bursting with vibrant energy and memorable activities, the event not only entertained but also educated and inspired.

The highlight of the day was the Drone Flying Competition, where students demonstrated impressive technical skills and creativity.

Fatingbesi Muiz and Azemat Alausa, both from JSS 3, captivated the crowd with jaw-dropping drone maneuvers.

“Woohoo! Flying high and feeling free!” shouted an excited Fatingbesi, who had spent weeks perfecting his performance.

Another major milestone was the launch of a documentary chronicling the educational journey and developmental strides of WICE Iwopin.

The documentary detailed the community’s educational challenges and the school’s dynamic efforts in tackling them through innovation, quality teaching, and the promotion of digital, blue, and green skills vital for the future of work.

Alfa Roqeeb, WICE’s Digital Literacy teacher, emphasized, “This documentary is a testament to our dedication to providing quality education.”

Parents and guests praised the school’s efforts in combining fun with meaningful learning.

Mr. Otusegun Adebola, the PTA Chairman, lauded the event, stating, “Today’s celebration is a testament to the strong bond between our school and the community.

The drone-flying competition is just one example of how we’re nurturing creativity and innovation in our students.”

He also highlighted the importance of the documentary as a historical and educational tool.

Parents like Mrs. Muibat Ajayi expressed joy over their children’s engagement with digital technology. “Seeing my child handle digital devices today makes all the hard work worth it,” she said. Mr. Agbojule, another parent, noted, “I’m thrilled to see our children enjoying themselves while learning new skills that could lead to careers in space and aerobatics engineering.”

The WICE Media Team, led by Project Director Agbojule Sinlate, played a key role in the documentary’s success.

“This four-month project has been an incredible journey. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved,” Sinlate said. Assistant Director Salia Olamiposi added, “It’s a great way to inspire others and share our school’s vision.”

Scriptwriter Ganiyu Rafiat reflected on the creative process: “Writing the script for this documentary has been a challenging but rewarding experience. The energy of the students has been contagious.” Student contributors like Fatingbesi Muiz and Azemat Alausa shared their excitement, proud to see their school’s story come alive on screen.

Mr. Agbro Adams encouraged the learners to continue exploring digital and green skills, underscoring the importance of preparing for the future.

The Children’s Day celebration at WICE Iwopin was more than just a festive event—it was a powerful demonstration of how education, innovation, and community spirit can come together to inspire the next generation.
