Ogun State Partners with Terra Kulture to Launch World-Class Film Village, Restore Heritage Sites Ahead of Sports Festival

In a bold move to position Ogun State as a premier hub for creative excellence, Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced a strategic partnership with Terra Kulture, a leading arts and culture organization headed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, to develop a world-class Film and Entertainment Village in the state.
Governor Abiodun shared the exciting development, emphasizing the cultural and economic potential of the project.
“We are partnering with Terra Kulture, led by its CEO, Bolanle Austen-Peters, to establish a world-class Film and Entertainment Village in Ogun State.
“This project will celebrate our legends in music, film, and arts—icons like Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Professor Wole Soyinka—while creating jobs and boosting tourism,” he stated.
According to the governor, construction on the project is set to commence within the next 60 days.
As part of a broader cultural revitalization effort, the state is also investing heavily in the restoration of key heritage landmarks.
These include the iconic Olumo Rock, the former residence of Fela’s mother, the historic home of Chief MKO Abiola, and the notable house that once hosted the Queen of England.
“These efforts are part of our broader plans ahead of the National Sports Festival in May, where we expect to host over 12,000 visitors,” Governor Abiodun explained, signaling the administration’s intent to leverage the upcoming event to showcase Ogun’s rich cultural heritage.
In addition, the state government plans to establish a Hall of Fame to immortalize the heroes of Ogun State and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations. “Our administration remains committed to promoting culture, tourism, and economic growth across the state,” the governor affirmed.
Highlighting the long-term vision behind the partnership, Abiodun added, “This partnership aligns with our vision to make Ogun State a leading destination for creative excellence in Nigeria and beyond, while also building opportunities for learning, innovation, and wealth creation within the cultural space.”
With this ambitious initiative, Ogun State aims not only to preserve its cultural heritage but also to harness it as a powerful engine for tourism, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
