Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan alleges assassination plot by Akpabio, Yahaya Bello

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of contracting former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to orchestrate her recall and assassination.
She made this claim on Tuesday while addressing her constituents at a rally in Ihima, Kogi Central.
According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio initially approached Kogi’s incumbent governor, Usman Ododo, to initiate her recall. However, Ododo reportedly declined, stating that “the masses are with her.” Dissatisfied with this response, Akpabio allegedly turned to Bello, promising to fund both the recall process and an assassination attempt.
“But Akpabio was not satisfied; he then called for Yahaya Bello. It was Senator Asuqwo that drove Yahaya Bello to the Hiltons. I was informed,” she said.
“The meeting was in two folds; he told him to commence my recall. He was going to fund it. Of course, money changed hands that day. The second thing was that he should kill me.”
She further alleged that Akpabio instructed Bello to ensure her assassination occurred in Kogi, not Abuja, to make it appear as though locals were responsible. She stated that she had reported the alleged plot to the police.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, recently suspended from the Senate for alleged unruly behavior, insists her suspension is a political witch-hunt after she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.
