MAP, Amnesty condemn Israel’s killing of 15 unharmed medics in Gaza

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and Amnesty International have strongly condemned Israel’s killing of 15 medics and emergency workers who were attempting to rescue civilians wounded in Israeli attacks on March 23.
UK-based charity MAP described the attack as “yet another unconscionable attack on health and humanitarian operations in Gaza” and called for “urgent independent, international investigations” into the incident.
Rohan Talbot, a spokesperson for MAP, questioned the UK government’s response, asking, “The latest horrors reported in Rafah raise the question: what will it take for the UK government to finally stand up for international law and protect Palestinian lives?” He urged the UK to take immediate action to hold those responsible accountable.
Amnesty International echoed the call for justice, insisting that independent monitors be granted immediate access to Gaza for investigations. Erika Guevara Rosas, a spokesperson for Amnesty, emphasized the tragedy of the situation, stating, “These men were paramedics and rescue workers who put their lives on the line day after day, braving bombs and bullets, and working in harrowing conditions to save lives. The fact that they were killed while trying to rescue people is deeply distressing and an absolute tragedy.”
She further insisted that the killings “must be independently and impartially investigated, and the perpetrators must be held to account.”
The incident has intensified calls for international scrutiny and accountability as humanitarian workers continue to face deadly risks in the Israeli raids on Gaza.
