“Desperation to silence me is palpable”: Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan rejects apology claims, vows to remain defiant

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has firmly dismissed reports suggesting she apologised to the Senate, asserting that she will not be intimidated into silence.
In a press statement, the Kogi Central lawmaker condemned her six-month suspension, labeling it a blatant case of political victimisation. She vowed to continue her fight for justice and transparency, maintaining her stance despite mounting pressure.
“I, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, stand firm in my resolve to never apologise for speaking my truth. The desperation to silence me is palpable, but I will not be intimidated,” she declared.
Her suspension follows a tense standoff with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, against whom she has made sexual harassment allegations—a matter that remains a subject of political contention.
Akpoti-Uduaghan insists that corrupt individuals have infiltrated Nigeria’s institutions, vowing that their wrongdoings will be exposed. She also reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for Nigerian women, promising to ensure their voices are heard.
“I will continue to fight for the rights of Nigerian women and ensure that our voices are heard,” she stated.
Dismissing claims of an apology, she urged the public to disregard false reports, calling them “entirely untrue.”
