Liverpool endured relentless pressure from Paris Saint-Germain for 87 minutes at the Parc des Princes, but substitute Harvey Elliott struck just 46 seconds after coming on to snatch a 1-0 victory in their Champions League last-16 first-leg clash.

PSG dominated the encounter, unleashing 27 shots to Liverpool’s mere two, yet they were repeatedly denied by an inspired Alisson. The Brazilian goalkeeper delivered a breathtaking performance, thwarting wave after wave of PSG attacks to keep the Reds in the game.

“It was probably the performance of my life,” Alisson admitted to TNT Sports. “The manager told us how tough it would be and that we would have to be ready to suffer. We knew what was coming.”

With the French champions growing increasingly frustrated, Elliott’s introduction proved decisive. The young midfielder latched onto a rare opportunity and clinically buried his shot, securing an unlikely advantage for Liverpool heading into the second leg.

Praising his teammate, Elliott added, “He is unbelievable, the best in the world. In each and every game, he shows it and keeps us in many games. Without him, I don’t know where we would be.”

Liverpool now return to Anfield with a precious lead, while PSG must rue their missed chances and prepare for an uphill battle in the return fixture.
