Jurrien Timber challenges Arsenal to ‘change the narrative’ against PSV

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has called on his teammates to “change the narrative” when they face PSV in their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to the media ahead of the clash, the Dutch international noted the team’s quality despite recent struggles. “I think tomorrow we can change the narrative. We have a lot of quality in our group. We have a lot of injuries, especially upfront. We know that, but it is a beautiful challenge,” he said.

“We have been through a lot, especially the last couple of weeks. It is a challenge for us and we just have to take it.”

Arsenal’s recent inability to score against West Ham and Nottingham Forest has seen them slip further behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race. When asked how the team could restore positivity at the Emirates Stadium, Timber responded bluntly: “Change the narrative by winning games – it’s as easy as that. We have to score tomorrow. In the Champions League, you only have two games, so you don’t get second chances.”

Despite the setbacks, Timber remains optimistic about Arsenal’s potential. “I feel like I’m part of something big with this team and we can win a lot. We can do everything we can to win prizes, and tomorrow is another step towards that.”

With their European hopes at stake, Arsenal will need a strong performance against PSV to shift momentum in their favor.
