Jigawa slashes working hours for civil servants as Ramadan hits day four

Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants in Jigawa State throughout the 2025 Ramadan fast.
In a statement signed by the State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, the government announced a revised schedule to ease the burden on workers during the holy month.
As the fasting month for Muslims hits day four, civil servants will now work from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Thursday instead of the usual 5:00 pm.
On Fridays, working hours will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, maintaining the long-standing practice.
Dagaceri explained that the adjustment aims to provide civil servants with more time to prepare for iftar and engage in Ramadan’s spiritual activities.
Additionally, the statement encouraged workers to take advantage of the season to pray for peace, stability, and economic prosperity in Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
