Plateau: Troops capture notorious kidnappers, terrorists in Barkin Ladi

Troops of the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven successfully apprehended two notorious kidnappers and terrorists in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, following a well-coordinated sting operation.

Codenamed Operation Golden Peace, the mission took place on February 24 at approximately 2:20 p.m. in Lugere Sho, Barkin Ladi.

Security forces acted on intelligence gathered from a suspect arrested on February 22, leading to the capture of another high-profile kidnapper and terrorist at Kwok Village in the same LGA.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, reporting via his official X platform (formerly Twitter), revealed that the suspect in custody had confessed to multiple kidnappings across Plateau and Nasarawa States.

Further reports indicate that one of the arrested admitted to sustaining gunshot wounds from a previous clash with security forces. The suspects have since disclosed the identities and locations of their accomplices, prompting intensified military efforts to dismantle the syndicate.

The Nigerian troops have recorded gains against bandits and insurgents in recent weeks as they continue the challenging fight against insecurity that has affected the socio-economic activities of the citizens.
