Hamas condemns Israel’s expanded operations in occupied West Bank
Hamas has strongly denounced Israel’s decision to intensify military operations in Jenin governorate and other areas of the northern occupied West Bank, describing it as a “dangerous intention to persist [in] the war of extermination.”
The Palestinian group also called for a “unified front” against what it described as “Israel’s forced displacement campaigns”, which have impacted over 40,000 residents from Jenin, Tulkarem, Nur Shams, and Far’a refugee camps.
Additionally, Hamas dismissed Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz’s statement that the Israeli army will remain in West Bank refugee camps for the next year, calling it “an illusion that will not come true.”
In a significant escalation, the Israeli military announced on Sunday that it would deploy tanks to the occupied West Bank—marking the first time since 2002 that such heavy weaponry has been used in the region.
