Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has denounced the Canadian embassy for denying visas to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christopher Musa and other senior military officers.

Speaking at the maiden annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja on Thursday, Ribadu did not hold back his frustration, stating that Canada “can go to hell” over the decision.

The CDS, Christopher Musa, had earlier expressed disappointment, revealing that he and several military chiefs were scheduled to attend an event in Canada on Wednesday to honour war veterans, but only half of their delegation was granted visas.

“This is a clear reminder that we must stand on our own, stand strong as a nation, and should no longer be taken for granted,” Musa said.

Ribadu, visibly displeased, applauded Musa for addressing the issue publicly.

“Thank you for the courage to say Canada denied you visas. They can go to hell,” Ribadu declared. “Even though it’s painful and disrespectful, we are peaceful and strong, and I agree with you that it is time to fix our country.”

He further praised the CDS for his leadership in the fight against insecurity, emphasizing the ongoing collaboration between Nigeria’s security agencies across the country.
