Gombe: Police impose nighttime movement restrictions amid security concerns
The Gombe State Police Command has announced a restriction on movement from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., starting Friday, in response to rising security threats.
In a statement made available to newmen, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, cited intelligence reports indicating potential risks to public safety.
“Intelligence reports inundating the Police Command in Gombe State point to rising threats to the safety and security of citizens in the state,” he stated.
Determined to curb these threats, the police have enforced the nighttime restriction beginning February 7.
Abdullahi declared that the measure prioritizes citizens’ safety and urged public cooperation to maintain security.
He further advised parents and guardians to caution their wards, warning that any attempts to violate the restrictions would not be tolerated.
