Suspected killer of NYSC member arraigned in Lafia court, pleads not guilty

Timileyin Ajayi, the man accused of killing 24-year-old Salome Adaidu, has been formally arraigned at the High Court of Justice in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.

He faces one count of culpable homicide punishable by death, as outlined in Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.

Ajayi, 32, appeared before Justice Simon Aboki on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He is accused of murdering Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), who had been serving at NICON Insurance in Abuja.

The tragic incident occurred when Adaidu visited Ajayi at his residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

During police investigations, Ajayi was paraded alongside the knife and machetes that were reportedly used in the crime. The case continues to draw attention as the legal proceedings unfold.
