Saudi Arabia welcomes Gaza ceasefire, harps on for Palestinian rights, lasting peace

Saudi authorities have welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, expressing gratitude to mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and the US for their pivotal role in achieving the breakthrough.
In an official statement on Wednesday, the Kingdom stressed the necessity for strict adherence to the agreement, the cessation of Israeli aggression against Gaza, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory and all other occupied Palestinian and Arab lands.
Saudi Arabia highlighted the importance of leveraging the ceasefire to address the root causes of the conflict and called for a concerted effort to secure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Foremost among these rights, the Kingdom asserted, is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kingdom expressed hope that the ceasefire would signify the end of the devastating Israeli campaign in Gaza, which has claimed the lives of more than 45,000 Palestinians and left over 100,000 wounded.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to supporting peace efforts and ensuring justice for the Palestinian people.
