Ibadan Stampede: Oriyomi Hamzat USA, Canada supporters call for justice, commiserate with victims

The Oriyomi Hamzat Family, United States of America and Canada Chapter, has expressed deep condolences to the families of victims affected by the tragic stampede that occurred on December 18, 2024, ahead of the Ibadan Fun Fair at Bashorun District Islamic High School.
In a heartfelt statement, the group described the incident as a significant loss and extended prayers for the departed, saying, “We pray that God, in His infinite mercies, will grant the departed souls eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear these irreparable losses. We also wish those admitted to the hospital a speedy recovery.”
The group further thanked the public for their unwavering support during a recent peaceful demonstration in Ibadan, which called for the release of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat and others in custody.
The Oriyomi Hamzat USA and Canada Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to justice, urging authorities to ensure a fair investigation into the incident. “We plead with the concerned authority to embrace the principle of fair justice in the case involving Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, Prophetess Silekunola Naomi, and Mr. Fasasi Abdulah while a thorough investigation is being conducted. We believe that Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat meant well and that this incident was not intentional. He has always been an advocate for children and the less privileged in our society,” the statement emphasized.
As investigations continue, the group called on all members of the Oriyomi Hamzat Family worldwide to remain resolute and steadfast.
