In the last 24 hours, Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of at least 59 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

This brings the cumulative death toll to 45,717 since the onset of hostilities in October 2023. Additionally, 108,856 individuals have been reported injured amidst the relentless assaults.

A ministry statement detailed that 59 individuals were killed and 273 injured in “four massacres of families,” highlighting the devastation caused by the conflict. “Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescuers unable to reach them,” the statement added.

The ongoing violence follows an October 2023 cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, which Israel responded to by launching what has been described as a “genocidal war” in Gaza.

The second year of the crisis has drawn heightened international condemnation. Numerous officials and institutions have denounced the sustained violence and blockade of humanitarian aid as acts aimed at annihilating a population.

In response to the atrocities, the International Criminal Court (ICC) on November 21 issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Both face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice, further intensifying global scrutiny over its actions in Gaza.
