Vice-President Shettima returns to Abuja after performing Umrah
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after successfully performing the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, confirmed the development in a statement.
During his visit to the holy site, Shettima offered heartfelt prayers for Nigeria’s peace and stability. Nkwocha noted that the Vice-President’s supplications included prayers for Nigeria’s leadership at all levels, from the federal to local government.
Shettima’s prayer was focused on the hope for peace to prevail across the country, with his words being, “May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony.”
Before embarking on his spiritual journey, Shettima had represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
