Emir Sanusi breaks silence of newly turbaned District Head of Bichi
The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has reaffirmed his commitment to personally and peacefully escort the newly appointed District Head of Bichi, Munir Sanusi Bayero, to his jurisdiction, undeterred by reported threats from security agents.
During a solidarity visit to his Gidan Kofar Kudu Palace in Kano on Wednesday, the Emir assured the people of Bichi that the Emirate Council remains steadfast in its decision to deliver their District Head to them without conflict.
The visit was led by Alhaji Hamza Sule, Chairman of Bichi Local Government, and included a delegation of traditional and religious leaders.
Addressing the delegation, Emir Sanusi stated that The Emirate Council will take the District Head to his people peacefully.
He also mentioned that a specific date would soon be announced for the formal conveyance of Munir Sanusi Bayero, who was recently turbaned at the palace.
“That thing that happened was only a distraction, we still don’t know why it happened and those involved have not said the reason why they did it. However, this will not stop anything.
“I assure you that another day will be fixed and your district head will surely be brought to you and everything will take place peacefully.
“Go back and inform the public to continue to remain peaceful and prayerful. Whatever the situation, peace and prayer will surely take us to the end of the tunnel,” the Emir said.
