Video: Singer Ayeloyun faces backlash over TikTok content with uncovered wife
Prominent Muslim singer Qamardeen Yusuf Odunlami, popularly known as Ayeloyun, has sparked controversy online after a TikTok video featuring him dancing with his wife surfaced.
The criticism centers on the fact that his wife’s head and body were uncovered in the video, a detail that many netizens argue conflicts with Islamic teachings.
Ayeloyun, who rose to fame for his music, is a graduate of the renowned Markaz Arabic and Islamic Training Centre in Agege, Lagos, Nigeria.
His association with the institution has heightened public expectations regarding his adherence to Islamic principles, including those concerning modesty and women’s dress.
The video, which has since gone viral, drew swift condemnation from some sections of the online community. Critics expressed disappointment, suggesting that Ayeloyun’s actions contradicted the values he has long represented through his music and educational background.
