Military airstrikes foil terrorist attack in Zamfara, neutralize assailants
The Nigerian military has successfully neutralized scores of terrorists planning an attack on Babban Kauye village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation, conducted by air troops under Operation Farautar Mujiya, targeted fighters loyal to notorious bandit kingpins Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule.
Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), disclosed that the terrorists were plotting coordinated attacks on military personnel stationed in the Tsafe axis and nearby communities.
Acting on intelligence, NAF launched precise airstrikes on Friday, disrupting their plans and inflicting significant casualties.
He added that aAirstrikes were carried out with devastating impact, and ground troops later confirmed the elimination of many bandit leaders involved in the planned attacks.
The operation demonstrates the military’s ongoing commitment to combating insecurity in Zamfara and other troubled regions.
Akinboyewa reaffirmed the NAF’s resolve to work with sister services and security agencies to restore peace and eliminate threats from terrorists, bandits, and other criminal groups undermining national security.
