Taoreed Lagbaja: Farewell ceremony for late Chief of Army Staff begins in Abuja

The remains of Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, former Chief of Army Staff, were transported from Lagos to Abuja on Thursday, marking the start of his final journey.

The 56-year-old general passed away after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.

A detailed burial program, released by Army spokesperson Onyema Nwachukwu, outlines the memorial events planned to honor the late Chief of Army Staff.

The service of songs is scheduled for Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Garrison Parade Ground, Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja.

On Friday, a funeral service will take place at the National Christian Centre, situated in Abuja’s central business district (CBD), from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The ceremonies will conclude with the interment at the National Military Cemetery, scheduled between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
